What is the Majority Text Society?

A Brief History of the NT Text

What is the Majority Text Society?

The Majority Text Society is a nonprofit corporation made up of Bible students world wide who are commited to identifying and promoting the original wording of the NT.

We seek to identify the original wording of the NT by sponsoring study and research in the Gr. mss. and other relevent materials. Because most of us in the Society believe in the accuracy of the M-text, we actively promote the evidence supporting it.

Through a number of forums, including publications and meetings, we want to encourage the discussion of these important issues with those of like, similar, or differing viewpoints.

Our ultimate goal is to help reverse the century-old minority text dominance and to restore the M-text as the authoritative and trustworthy NT standard.

Are All Our Members Scholars?

No. Our members come from many educational backgrounds, countries, denominations, and theological viewpoints. Some members can sight read the Gr. NT; many can use the original with study helps; others have never studied Gr..
